How We Do It

Our unique approach
- Discovery Phase: We use our proprietary BMIA needs assessment model which consists of six comprehension lenses to analyze key challenges and painpoints endemic to doing business in more than one culture.
- Recommendation Phase: We use this same proprietary model as a structure to make recommendations as to global best practices that will optimize the bottom line.
- Implementation Phase: We leverage the learning opportunities of the first two phases of our process to offer strategic consulting solutions, BMIA training, and executive coaching that effectively addresses the specific challenges presented, while developing a global mindset among all stakeholders.
Our copyrighted and trademarked BMIA process involves a detailed cross cultural solutions needs assessment through six comprehension lenses and multiple cross-cultural business continuums. It is a unique approach based on years of experience that identifies the business challenges, both internally and externally, that emerge when individuals from more than one culture interact. While business objectives may be consistent globally across an organization, the methodology for realizing those objectives varies greatly from culture to culture. Operational functions, such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, I.T., Supply Chain, H.R. and Quality Assurance can be adversely impacted if corporate vision and standards are not implemented consistently, or are implemented with such rigidity that they do not allow for local adjustment. This balancing process is dubbed “glocalizing.” From motivational tactics to conflict resolution, and from interpersonal communication styles to management of business processes, an awareness of cultural differences is needed in order to effectively work together.
It is a unique approach based on years of experience that identifies the challenges, both internally and externally, that emerge when individuals from more than one culture interact.
Through the Universal Consensus Cross Cultural Needs Solutions Assessment Model© we are able to evaluate the cross-cultural aptitude of the client and identify the barriers and areas of opportunity pertaining to communications and operational efficiency domestically and abroad. Following the assessment, clients with a distributed workforce or a culturally diverse population of suppliers, vendors and customers will be equipped with the tools to improve communication and maximize performance.
The needs assessment process is divided into six phases:
- Discovery Phase
- Corroboration Phase
- Findings Phase
- Recommendations Phase
- Programmatic Plan Phase, And
- Implementation Phase
The Universal Consensus model of consultation is forward reaching, with an emphasis on a thorough and complete understanding of the problem. Our creative, but practical solutions improve the bottom line and the ROI is substantial. The entire process is geared toward creating a more synergistic work experience, a more operationally efficient work environment, and an increase in business opportunities for which the organization would otherwise be ill-prepared. Universal Consensus is available to guide clients through every stage of the learning process.
