WHAT HE SAID WITH HIS EYES: HOW CULTURE IMPACTS YOUR GLOBAL BUSINESS
If you’re a female professional, you may already know immediately what this means. If you’re a male professional, knowing what this means could change your life. Is this a gender-neutral challenge? Body language, eye contact, gaze, personal space, gestures and colloquial expressions differ from culture to culture, here and abroad. Understanding these cultures can prevent critical mistakes in your business and personal life. Through her own life experience in international business as well as living in multiple places abroad, Denise Pirrotti Hummel shares critical information about understanding cultures on several continents, religions, between gender, and between micro-corporate-cultures throughout the world or across the hall. In the space between all this new-found knowledge is her anecdotal humor. You’ll leave the room enhanced and uplifted.
A PEEK INTO THE ARAB NATIONS
The average American is oblivious to the differences in communication, pace of interaction, gender dynamics, language, syntax and ways of doing business in the Arab nations. The average Arab is often perplexed by the complex nature of Western society. In this global society, can we afford not to know each other? This session is multi faceted, but includes the following objectives of alerting the audiences to the differences in our cultures attendees may not already be aware of helping attendees relate to or understand individuals they may meet here or abroad in a personal or business context, understanding etiquette and protocol in various parts of the world, and promoting tolerance toward those who are different from us.
SPEAK MILK; DRINK WINE – REDEFINING THE AMERICAN DREAM
Not too long ago, Denise Pirrotti Hummel packed up her kids, left her lucrative law career, and moved to Italy for a one-year adventure that turned into three. The Italians have an elusive quality Denise Hummel describes as "the extra" something her life was lacking. She hoped that some of it might rub off on her family. At a minimum, she expected that jumping off the treadmill of the rat race she was on, might give them some perspective on what wasn't working in their demanding lives. Let her tell you how she got away and what happened while she was gone. You won’t have to leave the country to gain some perspective and reclaim your own piece of the American Dream.
